Without official rosters, arriving early is key. I sit with visiting team parents during warm-ups to learn player names and numbers, ask coaches for key players to watch, and listen carefully during the game when parents call out names. Building relationships with coaches and parents over the season helps you gather storylines and player information naturally. The announcing approach is covered in detail in my Essentials Kit, including techniques for gracefully handling when you don't know a player's name.

Editing time varies by experience and approach. Beginners often spend 3-4 hours editing a one-hour game. With efficient workflows, you can reduce this to 1 hour or less. My editing process focuses on trimming dead time, adding simple graphics (score overlays), and color correction. The key is developing a repeatable system. My Essentials Kit includes a complete screen-recorded tutorial of my editing workflow from import to YouTube upload, showing exactly how I streamline the process.
